General Description: Oxygen addition on the KISS rebreathers is what we call a buffered manual control system. The oxygen is added in two ways. Via the manual add valve as well as a active continuous oxygen flow ino the unit.

Bail out design by manufacturer: The Classic CCR KISS rebreather does feature and is factory equipped with a Bail Out Valve ( BOV ) that facilitates going off the loop in case of hypercapnia, hyperoxia, hypoxia or flooded loop emergency procedures. A separate bail out tank is required for any overhead or decompression diving. A separate 30 cft or 40 cft alm tank is recommended for recreational diving. For more aggressive dive plans adjust and pre-plan bail out gas volume as well as required bail out tank size accordingly.

Set up of unit: The unit is streamlined, is compact and user friendly.
Diveable weight: Classic KISS weight with full 13 cuft aluminum cylinders, full scrubber, aluminum counterlung case, but no BCD, back plate or harness is 39 lb (17.5 kg). With the stainless steel counterlung case the weight is 45 lb (20 kg).
Dimensions are 22” x 20” x 5” (56cm x 51cm x 13cm). This is with 13 cuft aluminum cylinders.
Includes Bailout integrated BOV, three PPO2 display, manual add valve, canister, counterlungs, first stages, display hose attachment pod, exhaust/ADV hose attachment pod, cylinder attachment system, aluminum or stainless steel counterlung case, 3 K1D sensors and all fittings and hoses.
Canister design: The Sport KISS scrubber canister has a bi-axial design while the Clasic KISS is of axial design. It is a durable canister which has 2 easy to fill openings and holds approximately 5 lbs (2.3 kg) of absorbent. The gas flows from the exhaust hose into the canister and lung below, and then passes through to the next canister and lung, and back out the inhalation hose.
Absorbent recommended: Sofnolime 797 grade of absorbent was used for testing but larger granule size absorbent can be used as well.
Counterlungs and position: The Sport and Classic KISS uses 2 back mounted counterlungs which are available in 2 sizes. They are attached to the bottom of the scrubber canister. Back mounted lungs leave the diver’s chest area clear and reduce the number of hoses and fittings compared to the over the shoulder counterlungs found on other rebreathers. These lungs are manufactured by Jetsam Technologies. The Sport KISS comes standard with 2 medium lungs. Smaller lungs are available upon request.
